The President visited the Islamic Society of Baltimore yesterday. His visit, which also included a round-table with Muslim community members, was intended to “reaffirm the importance of religious freedom” to life in America, according to a White House spokesperson.
What the White House failed to mention is that the Society of Baltimore’s past Iman has ties, not only to the Muslim Brotherhood, but the Northern Virginia mosque where the radical Anwar al-Awlaki used to preach. It was there that Awlaki, just months earlier, gave his fiery sermons, (in Virginia) before going on to be a top Al Qaeda affiliate operative in Yemen. Awlaki, a U.S. citizen, was killed in a U.S. drone strike in 2011.
The White House also failed to mention future visits to any Baptist, or Presbyterian, or Methodist Churches. Nor was there any mention of visits to a single Cathedral or Synagogue.
President Obama opened by thanking Muslim-Americans for their service to their communities. Of course, he did not relay any sentiments from the families of the 14 victims, killed by two Muslims; just two weeks after the victims had given the Muslim killers … a baby shower.
President Obama said that “The very word Islam comes from ‘Salam’, for peace.” Yes …Islam is derived from the Arabic root “Salema”, meaning peace and purity. But, Islam literally means submission. Submission to the will of God (theirs) and obedience to his law (Sharia.)
President Obama also said that “Islam has always been part of America.” I believe this is left to interpretation. That is his, and this is mine:
Those of you that remember the Marine Battle Hymn may recall the lyrics … “From the Halls of Montezuma … To the shores of Tripoli …We fight our country’s battles.”
That song refers to an 1805 battle in Tripoli, fought on the sea by Decatur and O’Bannon … and on land, led by Eaton. The Tripoli pirates were capturing American ships (and ships from other countries) and holding the sailors captive for money. The sailors were tortured for not converting to Islam and some were killed. They were also held from ransom, while their Muslim captors demanded huge amounts of money for their return. (Sound familiar??) The Tripolitans were Muslims.
No, they were never a part of America … the history of America, perhaps … but, never a part America.
The President is right about one thing … when it comes to the Muslim faith. Indeed, nothing has changed. They were, and still are … our enemy. (In my own opinion)
President Obama also said … well … he said a lot yesterday … and yet … nothing at all.
Nothing at all about the greatness of this country, or that Catholic, Jewish, Baptist, Presbyterian, Methodist, Episcopalian … all the faiths that this country is truly built upon, should be respected, and should be honored, and should be protected.
No, President Obama really didn’t say much of anything ,yesterday, that really matters to the preservation of this country, nor his intentions in preserving this country. He went to a mosque and he spoke to Muslims. He has indeed, given his allegiance to Islam, and slapped the faces of those who elected him (and those who didn’t) as President of the … United States of America.
