LOOK WHO’S “HONEST AND ETHICAL”; EXCEPT … WHEN SHE IS PUSHING FAKE NEWS IN FACEBOOK

Weeks ago, I was happy for one of the members in Facebook for being honored at some event for her successes in business, her community service … her “ethics, and … being a person of character.”  She had posted this, and I had no reason to doubt that it was true.

Yesterday, while browsing the news feed, I saw a post about President Trump on her timeline.  I didn’t believe the headlines … but, I read the article, anyway.  Low and behold … the headlines said one thing … and the actual article from The Hill said the complete opposite.

This is the perfect example of why I ask people … no … I implore … people to please read the entire article before commenting or going away with a misconception of the truth.

What really surprised me, in this case, was that it was brought to this person’s attention (giving her the benefit of the doubt and keeping her honesty intact.”  She didn’t take it down, in respect for the truth.  Instead … she left the post up, and said she still stands by her hateful comments.  Point taken … out of sheer hate for our President … she will be complicit in the lies being pushed, thus helping to increase the divisiveness in the country.

I’ve included screen shots of the posts and comments, to back up this post.  I have also the link to the article from The Hill.  What were they thinking?

When you wonder how this country became so divided and can’t understand why people hate this President so much … just spend a day in Facebook.  Take some time to read and check-out the articles … understand that most of what is being posted are deliberate lies to discredit our President and others.  Then … take one more step … call out the fake news for what it is.  Let’s stop rewarding the fake news for their … “creativity” and, start demanding that truth prevail, with a side of … real … “integrity and character.”

My Take On The CNN Protest Against Fake News: July 22, 2017

Last Saturday, July 22, 2017 … people who are tired of all the fake news, the slander and the assassination of innocent people’s character, came together … in protest … in front on the CNN Headquarters, in Atlanta, Ga.

The founders of Media Equalizer, Brian Maloney and Melanie Morgan were present and vocalized their frustration with the way CNN has conducted smear campaigns against those in alignment with President Trump.

Brian Crabtree, a local talk radio show host in Atlanta, told Breitbart News CNN is “destroying” American culture.”  Crabtree has a valid point when he says that CNN fails to talk about how illegal border crossings are down 70 to 80 percent, and that $65 to $80 billion regulations have evaporated, since President Trump has been in office … for only six months.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported only 30 people were in attendance.  The Hill quoted the AJC, with the same numbers.  Breitbart reported 150 people were in attendance.  The people who organized the event … and, would have a more factual account … reported that there were as many as 250 people who were coming and going during the protest.

What cannot be disputed is that there were no people injured, there was no looting, no buildings or cars were set on fire, and no store windows were broken.  There was no garbage, paper cups, articles of clothing … nothing … left behind for someone else to cleanup. The protesters, while disagreeing with some of the requests by law enforcement (and, challenging some of those requests), respected the police officers, and abided by the law.

I feel that the message sent to the nation is not only that America is tired of fake news, false hysteria and character assassinations …but also … there is a dignified and peaceful way to protest that upholds and respects the very right to assemble in peace and the freedom of speech … as afforded by our glorious U.S. Constitution.

History is not always made by large numbers.  History is made by people willing to stand together, in sweltering heat, no matter the size of the group, to stand up for American values and against the fake news that is tearing this country apart.

As it was with the famous Woolworth’s sit-in in Greensboro, N.C., in 1960 … first day there were four … the next day, 25 … and that number grew into mass protests all other the United States … so will it be … I believe … for the CNN protest and the fight against false hysteria, biased character assassinations, and fake news of which is like a cancer, metastasized and destroying this nation.

God Bless Brian Maloney, Melanie Morgan, the other organizers of this particular protest, and the brave, selfless people who stood in the sweltering heat, mindless to any threat that might have arisen or to any chiding by CNN, or false reporting … for taking on the media conglomerate and fighting to bring back truth in reporting.

This is America.  Give us the truth, and “We, the people,” will make up our own minds and do our own thinking.
